Sustainability is not just a word for us; it is a fundamental element of our business. We see it as a long-term commitment to be better at everything we do. That is why we are a long-term member of the VinylPlus association. As such, we have made a commitment to make long-term efforts in the area of the sustainable development of the PVC industry. Our main objective is to support the circular economy and more effective use of resources.
VinylPlus constitutes the European PVC industry’s commitment to sustainable development aimed at improving the sustainability of PVC. PVC is one of the most widely used plastics worldwide with a comprehensive range of applications and a long lifecycle. It can be found in window frames, pipes, floor coverings, cables, sports equipment, furniture and a number of critically important healthcare products. PVC can be recycled several times and this is the primary endeavour of VinylPlus.
The VinylPlus program was established during industrial workshops and on the basis of an open dialogue with all the participating parties, including non-governmental organisations, regulatory bodies, representatives of the public and PVC users.
In association with the European Commission’s pledge to increase recycling in the plastic industry in general, VinylPlus has undertaken to recycle at least 900,000 tons of PVC per year by 2025 with the goal of supporting the concept of the circular economy. In doing so, we are also thinking of the future, because we care about the world around us.
